Crikett came to me by way of the animal control in Mojave. I got this call from them and asked if I could take this three legged dog. I said of course I could but I needed to know some of his history.
He is a beautiful border collie, about 2 years old at the time. His owner had run over his front foot and never had it looked at by a vet. So about 6 months later the foot had lost all feeling and the leg had died.
I guess one of the neighbors called animal control and asked them to help the dog. So they went out to check him out and took him on the spot. They officer almost lost her life for him, but they both got out of there safe.
Needless to say they took him the the doctor and the leg could not be saved. It was amputated and in a few days he was home with me. He is the most loving, friendly, happy dog. He has joined the rest of my pack, and has playmates to play with and the most important thing of all he will never be hurt by another human again.
